Who Are We?
Who Are We?
Founder of Yikes Yoga
Native to Prince George’s County, I’m a product of the Prince George's County Public School System (PGCPS). Being an alumni of PGCPS and a mother of three, has highlighted an insight into the resources that weren’t available to the students in PGCPS then and are scarcely available now. The world is a lot different for the younger generation and Social Emotional Learning through mindfulness is more important than ever before. Having a genuine heart for children and their wellbeing, I want to provide that platform for students in and out of the classroom to experience the benefits of mindfulness. A benefit and skill that I believe can bridge the gap between the lack of emotional support resources available today.
“I can’t change the world, but I can create an impact within Yikes Yoga, Inc.”
-Tamykia Myers
The Youth
The youth impacted by Yikes Yoga look forward to the safe spaces we foster that allows them to step away from school and life and step into a moment of freedom & peace. We encourage our youth to develop resiliency through mindfulness focused and trauma-informed group activities, discussions, meditations, affirmations, and yoga. Yikes Yoga takes pride in being able to share these experiences with the youth and provide lifelong skills that will help them maintain the peace of mind they will need to not only live, but thrive.
